Awful, rude waitress, tasteless very expensive food. Left hungry. Been going for years and was terribly disappointed. Never going back there.

The server I had was the worst experience I’ve had. She rushed me brought my girlfriends food before the chef even started cooking didn’t bring silverware so I had to get my own: the food was good but the service sucked

Hibachi chicken had withered zucchini and broccoli , dry noodles , and small portions for $20 . Soup tasted like canned broth . Go to Fancy Sushi instead

One of the few places I can take my husband for some great Japanese Hibachi. He hates veggies and they have no issue with that. Very good.

Food portions are weak compared to Wasabi. The server was nice. The flavor of the steak was good but nothing else has flavor.

So here da thang is do, my pops don’t let me go to non daruma but I done been dere once fo ona those birthday thangs and I kinda thought it twas a phenomenal experience. My fellow colleagues also agree with my intellectual decision.

Staff was nice, but extra nice if they know you. Water and soda tasted awful. Vegetables, well, there were hardly any, on our plates. But they had no problem filling up the plates of their friends. The food was so-so. We have definitely had better at other Japanese restaurants. And the portion was not worth the price we paid.

Our party waited over 40 mins due to malfunction. Instead of simply moving to another table, we had to sit and wait. Wasn’t given any apologies nor discount on their behalf. Poor service.

Beware!!! Ate there last nite and was very sick. Beware...Chicken was not fresh.

My favorite hibachi restaurant in Jacksonville! The chicken teriyaki is my go to fish and I love the sautéed vegetables and ginger dressing they give with the salad! They are always kind, fast, and the prices are good for all the food you get!

Steak portion was very small. Sushi was fresh. Hibachi cook was entertaining.

Darumas food was excellent. The grill master was awesome and I liked how he engaged with us as he prepared our food. The restaurant was clean and quiet... I also loved the light setting is kinda dim perfect for a romantic evening. I definitely will be eating here again!

The food was delicious and the Chef was absolutely amazing.

First of all. I wasn't happy with the fact that the restaurant wasn't enforcing the wearing of mask until you are seated at your table. Once seated at the table. We waited about 15 minutes if not longer just to order our drinks. Then once we started eating I realized I was drinking a water downed drink. I was like dang this chick hasn't been back to the table in probably a hour to see if we needed refills. Finally our cooked had to get the chicks attention. Smh! The food was great and our Chef was AWESOME! Even the Chef told us. That's a regular problem here and the owner doesn't seem to care. Needless to say. Thankfully we had cash because we only tipped the Chef and I wrote a note on my receipt. That I refuse to leave a tip for such poor table service. I definitely will not be returning.

Daughter insisted coming here for her birthday dinner and it was very tasty. Great options.

This place be lit with all the live cooking. Pretty busy when we were over there but it's worth the wait.

Came here for my husbands birthday. It was delicious. Love the scallops.

Food was good; needed a little more flavor. Short wait for seating. Hibachi chef was fast. Atmosphere was good; needed some cleaning.

Delicious food! We ate at the hibachi grill and had a great experience. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. She even brought out our daughter's food before everyone else's! Our meals were great. My only complaint was the hostess seemed rude and annoyed we were there (not sure if she was the owner) when we arrived. We were seated right away and everything else went smoothly.

I would give it -5 stars if I could. Horrible place. The food was okay but they didn’t take in consideration my friends deadly allergies and served him food he specifically said he can’t have.

Best Japanese Steak House in Jacksonville! Tip: if you like shrimp sauce, save your meal, pour sauce all over. Put in fridge for a night then enjoy the next day ;] super yummy once the rice and meat have soaked up the sauce!

Order was wrong. Rice was flavorless, chicken was dry. Gross. I use to love this place. But now I will never go back.

Food is great. Price is reasonable. Staff were all very welcoming. Chef was very skillful and entertaining. The young lad who attended to us was caring and always checked how we were doing and if we needed anything else. Location was convenient. Parking was not a problem. Everyone made us feel welcome and comfortable. We left the restaurant with a well satisfied appetite. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food. Good service. Immersive decor. It was a good dining experience.

Just left and didn’t even eat. We go and sit at the bar and order a drink, asked for a menu and the man said when it’s just him working he doesn’t like guest eating at the bar. Get sat at table in the sushi section because we didn’t want to sit with a bunch of people. The manager on duty tells us if we want anything cooked we will have to sit on the other side or it will take a long time. I’ve never been anywhere that made me feel so inconvenient before. Never giving it another chance.

Took my daughter there last night for celebration of her vpk graduation and she enjoyed it! Food was delicious, chef was a great performer, and waitress was great! I had fresh water in front of me all the time. I have zero complaints....if I had to complain about anything it would be bathroom could have been cleaner

I love Daruma. The staff is great and the food is more than enough to fill the biggest appetite. I went while working and training new employees and have also had dinner with my family. Best lunch prices with plenty of foid

We are there last night for new years eve and our bill was 67 when i checked out bank account today they charged $102 to our card so someone added extra tip after we gave them back our bill with debit card. Will be reporting to both bank and owner. If not rectified will report as theft.

Daruma Japanese Steak House has reopen as off 4 May 2020 .

Love the food cook was entertaining. Bill was fare but felt rushed out before we finished eating when the cook finished the waitress was collecting the bills and had boxes on the table.

Good food, decent prices, friendly staff.

Always consistent, hibachi grill is great, sushi is fresh and staff is friendly.
